Deluxe Deals at Fair Payouts

#hotel #resort #dine #adventure #goodpeople

As summer comes to surcease, other people have not yet seized their summer breakaway, escapade, adventure, best-days or whatever they call it to pull off their dramas. Even after the summer of May and here comes rainy time, some had their Huling hirit sa Tag-init mementos. And there at Kiamba, Sarangani Province, I took on one of my best days ever with my friends at Princess del Leonor Hotel Resort and Convention Center (and water adventure park).

The resort lies at Macalipay Beach, Barangay Kayupo which is 48 miles away from General Santos City and about 9 miles away from the poblacion of Kiamba. Soon as we got there, we held our excitement for we never expected that the resort is pretty awesome. The hotel building welcomes the guests as it stands a distance away from the main gate. You’ll never feel alone in that place since the staff are well accommodating, from the guards, to front desk personnel and to their very hands-on manager. The whole place is free of intimidation. We waited for quite a bit of time since the resort was surprisingly fully booked and we weren’t able to make prior reservation. The resort staff made through enough effort to accommodate us and never even throw the blame on us for causing “gate-crash”. The wait is over and we were taken to our room for three- oh! I guess there was still a mistake- that was a room for five (too big for us three).  The room rates are so fair enough for such lavishness and deluxe.

The interior and other amenities of the hotel are exquisite, the restaurant and the poolside as well. Other than that, the numbers of Function Hall established at the side premise of the resort, architecturally designed with sophistication and varying sizes for guests’ demands. For walk-in guests to stay for daytime or just like to try the water adventure, they have White Cottage to offer beneath the hotel or at the bay side.

One thing that surprised us was the menu at their restaurant. Delicious meals and flavorsome fruit drinks that won’t cause you any pocket trouble. Worry no more about the bill and have chow fun with these affordable servings on a full platter dish and lavishing deals.

Chill at the cozy poolside or plunge to get totally wet. It’s open to all checked-in and walk-in guests. Just show your gate pass as you get in.

Apart from all I have mentioned above, the resort water adventures is one thing very peculiar about it that no other resorts existent along Sarangani bay have those- the Flying Fish Ride and Banana Boat Ride. For only Php. 300.00 you can have the thrilling ride on the Flying Fish for seven minutes while Php 250.00 for Banana Boat Ride in the same number of minutes. The experience was superb! For adventure goers, you may try once...or more. Yehaaah!

DEPICTION OF PERSEVERANCE

#PEOPLE

Mindanaowide photography competition commenced in General Santos City as the host for this year’s event through the initiative of National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) - National Committee on Visual Arts (NCVA) in partnership with Mindanao State University - GSC. The chosen best 30 photos were announced  through 2015 Mindanao Photo Competition  Facebook page and were exhibited at Veranza Mall on May 25-29. 2015. All photos were truly enthralling, showing diversity in concepts which adopts the theme “Celebrating Mindanao’s Indomitable Spirit”. With the theme as the guiding principle, photos must capture community in Mindanao that works in unison for common aspiration of which thematic value is reflected through experiences distinctively found in Mindanao.

Photojournalist, professional or amateur photographers and even photo hobbyist and enthusiast were admissible to join the competition since it was open to all Mindanao based photographer-artist. Interested photographers all over Mindanao joined and outstanding photographs were galleried with prominence in the exhibit.

Proudly, one General emerged on top three and bagged the second runner up with his photo entitled “Labor of Survival” taken by Engr. Alfred John Michael C. Yap, a photo hobbyist says himself. This winning photo (posted below) is more than its colors and vibrancy, the angle and perspective the photographer had put into it goes beyond what it shows. This is a picture of life and of living to survival. A depiction of perseverance of people for their family, community and society they live in. Those people working in the fish port complex do not make a living only for themselves, but a living for all the Generals who depend on the tons of fish they carry on their shoulders in each day of their existence. Their labor and hard work can’t be waged by any compensation, but of honor and pride we could give them.

A heartfelt gratitude and salute to Engr. Yap for the conveyance of this exquisite picture to all of us. Your hard work and perseverance in bringing this art is really paid off, indeed. This production of yours is more than a beauty of scenery; this is a getaway in giving them honor and respect.
